About Tim Hammell:
Born in Buffalo but aching for adventure, Tim moved to Alaska in 2006 to teach High School in rural villages. To keep busy during the long, cold nights & endless winters he picked up the guitar and started composing lyrics to go with the music. Leaving the bush and school teaching behind in 2018, he took to the road and spent 3 years traveling a loop between Alaska in the summer and Baja Mexico in the winter, making friends, playing music and writing songs and poetry about the people he met along the way.
Tim has studied with Jorma Kaukonen (Hot Tuna/Jefferson Airplane), the late great Pete Huttlinger and Verlon Thompson among others.
Called the ‘New Lou’ (Reed) and a ‘Dirtier Dylan (Bob), Hammell is now sharing his writing process in his workshop you will be glad you attended: Rhythm & Rhyme.
