Bluegrass Jam Camp - Wernick Method Session 3
Western Montana Musicians Cooperative is proud to present Bluegrass Jam Camp taught by Lydia Conway using the Wernick Method.
Ready to pick? Join this bluegrass jam class at the Western Montana Musicians Co-Op in Ronan, MT. At our classes, good jam etiquette is followed and the small jam groups are manageable size (5-8) with a balance of instruments and a helpful coach. Lydia keeps the music going while teaching how to play in different keys, how to follow new songs, how to fake solos, how to lead songs, and much more.

Full ground rules and etiquette of typical jams

Ear skills taught and emphasized, as in real bluegrass
Learn many bluegrass standards
Singing not required, but encouraged and taught

How to lead songs and how to follow new songs
How to find melodies, fake solos, sing harmony
Group and individualized instruction on backup skills
Understanding, low-pressure, time-tested teaching
About your teacher
Lydia Conway plays fiddle, guitar and mandolin. Instilled with a passion for music at an early age, she is dynamic performer and a fun teacher. Studying classical violin early on led to a Master of Music degree from Colorado State University. Lydia left the classical world for the Colorado bluegrass scene, playing with Jeff Scroggins & Colorado and other groups. She has taught at bluegrass festivals and recently served as Educational Programming Director at the Omaha Conservatory of Music. Her new mission is to bring music into her new home in the valley of the Mission Mountains in Ronan, MT.
